Serial #35629493; born in Delaware, Ohio; enlisted 02/18/1943, Columbus, Ohio, at age 20 3/12 years; honorably discharged in poor physical condition, 05/05/1943, Headquarters, Station Hospital, Camp Swift, Texas Recorder's Certificate (Vol. 2, p. 447), enlistment record, National Archives, and obituary all list spelling of last name as "Calwell" (spelling mistake was originally made on birth certificate; correct family name is Caldwell, per sister, S. Harbold); member of Marysville Elks Lodge 1130, Marysville Moose Lodge, and Marysville Eagles Lodge 8-25-2011 DD 214 removed from file (privacy law) by E. Carmany
